Halloween w/ the Kiddos

Had fun dressing up and trick or treating with the kiddos. But my oh my! It was definitely tiring going door to door with the kids still being so little. Our youngest (19 months) wanted to be carried majority of the time.

How precious are they? Fun Fun Fun. Made a mistake Halloween 2012 not 2013

Been A LONG Time! I'm Back

 I'm BACK!!!!

Goodness. Talk about being on hiatus! Been gone quite some time and definitely been crazy busy busy! With a big family, it's definitely expected. Yet, I can't complain.  I'd much rather have a busy life than be bored not doing anything right?  With that said, I will do my best to update more often and not be such a slacker.

On top of being a wife, mommy, having a full-time job, blogging, and juggling everything else, I've become an assistant/partner with my sister, Kay Castro.  She is an amazing Make-Up Artist and does awesome hairstyles/updo's too! She's dedicated to making people look and feel beautiful. I'm glad to take part in her work as an assistant and stylist.  This will be one fun journey that I look forward to. Already have weddings and events in the upcoming weeks! So psyched to be able to work with my sister and best friend.

And above all else, the hubby has finally landed a job after a year long search! Been a long time coming that's for sure! Truly blessed right now. God listens and answers our prayers without a doubt. I have to give hubby praise too though because he held it down at home and with the kids.  He is such an amazing father and husband. How did I get so lucky?!

Just recently celebrated my mom's 50th birthday, or shall I say her "35th" right? She sure doesn't look like 50 that's for sure. She can pass as our sister! Love my mom to pieces. She is such a strong woman, hard worker, loving, passionate, fun, and so much more! Glad to have you in my life and thank God for bringing you to this world.

Alright, style updates! Looking back, my favorite go to color for the month of October is PINK! Very fitting I suppose since it is breast cancer awareness month. Plus it is such a beautiful color right?

OOTD 10.20.12 Bright mint colored skinny jeans with loose fitted pink blouse and khaki colored blazer. Hair tight and braided

OOTD 10.23.12 Subtle pastel colors for fall and a pop of Pink/Coral. Love loose flowing clothing pieces. Great trend for the fall season.

Colder weather/season is upon us, are you ready? Bring out your coats and jackets if you haven't done so already. I love being able to layer up and put together cute outfits. Plus I love being able to wear boots! Fall and spring are my favorite seasons to experiment with style and fashion.

The 50 pair shoe rack I ordered from Beyond the Rack website arrived a few weeks ago, and I was definitely excited to put them to good use.  I ordered 2 sets and yet I still had shoes that didn't fit on the racks. Girl problems right?  I'm definitely digging the fact that I can finally be able to see all my shoe options for my outfit choice of that day or moment! Loving it!

OOTD: Red pants (Family Day) 10.07.12

My other HALF ♥. Love that he lets me dress him. (Can't see his suspenders though)  I must say, he's starting to rub off on me, he's starting to pick out his own clothes that include more color variety.  Just recently he picked out my personal pick of fall colors (camel, burgundy, and navy). Proud moment indeed!

My husband is wearing his outfit in a more neutral state that tones down the intensity of the red pants by wearing a white shirt, white/brown striped suspenders, camel colored button up/hooded sweater, and brown shoes.
I on the other hand, went for a more daring yet subtle look and stayed within the same color family. Wearing a pink blazer, red pants, blush bow pumps, off white blouse, gold accent jewelry, and my own hair braided at the crown as a "headband."

Make-up: tried to keep it simple (just like I like it).

And of course our children were also in RED PANTS! Our eldest is wearing a long-sleeved graphic white top w/ a black hooded/zip-up vest. Our middle child is wearing a camel checkered button up shirt under a football graphic shirt and brown shoes.  Our little one is wearing a denim button up shirt underneath a dark blue/navy shirt.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my family! My boys are Amazing!

Scarves!

Got my scarves set out. Ready to tackle this colder weather for sure! Are YOU?!

This may seem like a lot of scarves, but I want MORE! Is there something wrong with me?

TREND: Thigh High Socks

With every Fall/Winter Season each year, Thigh High Socks ALWAYS come back in style. You can wear them casual to formal/dressy. There are endless possibilities in how you can wear them! Another favorite fashion piece! They come in different colors and textures as well. What fun to add to an outfit.

These are examples of wearing Thigh High Socks in a fashionable manner, NOT looking too "hoochie". SOPHISTICATION is key. People perceive you in the way you carry yourself!

OOTD 10.04.2012 Pop of Color

Comfy, relaxed fit. Great for doing a little bit of shopping =)

Don't be afraid to mix and match colors, yet Don't go overboard. Using a belt and scarf could totally kick your outfit up a notch. Wide-legged Pants and Pointy toed shoes!

You can still wear loose clothing and still look good!
Oh and my very first Louis Vuitton from my wonderful Mother-In-Law! Turns out she beat my husband on getting me one. SMH Love you MAMA

OOTD 10.03.2012 Denim/Feminine with an Edge

Dinner w/ the Fam to bid our Aunt/Uncle safe journey back to Cambodia.

DENIM JACKET! Another must have. I absolutely adore the fact that it can be worn with just about everything!

This dress was quite ill-fitting for me, but I LOVED it's style and the fact that it has POCKETS! So I paired it with a denim jacket, red ribbon belt, black riding boots, black clutch, and brown beaded necklace. A little feminine w/ an edge kind of look. Hair slightly curled for texture and semi-natural make-up w/ dark red/vino lipstick.

See how I combined different colors but yet still it came together?

This outfit took less than 5 minutes to put together!

Just a Friendly Reminder!

Ok so it's the 1st of October and turns out we're getting colder weather a bit earlier and more often than last year. With that said, MOISTURIZE! Colder weather brings out the bad and ugly in our skin. So start now by exfoliating and packing on the lotion. This most definitely goes for our face, hands, feet, elbows, and knees.

OOTD 09.30.2012

I was so excited after purchasing my leggings that couldn't wait to wear them! Also, these are a few of my favorite Items for the fall/winter time: Leopard print, Burgundy, gold, AND LIQUID LEGGINGS!

It was super comfy and the texture was awesome! Kept rubbing my legs, it was soooo smooth. I recommend everyone to give it a try. It'll probably be one of your favorites as well.

Would you believe me when I say that this outfit (leggings & Burgundy Top) cost less than $12?
Looking great for a BARGAIN!

Jeans: Casual to Dressy

A friend of mine asked how she can keep an old pair of jeans and incorporate it into her daily wear.  She didn't want to have to get rid of it. So to answer her dilemma I came up with a FEW examples (that I just put together in less than 5 minutes from my closet) of how I would wear jeans from Casual to Dressy.

1. Casual: Roll up your jeans to give it a new look and pair it with some flats, an over-sized sweater, with your hair down, and a beanie.
2. Everyday: Add some contrasting colors and pair of cute comfy boots!
3. Dressy: Wear a pair of statement pumps, jacket, and cute little clutch. Accessorize! I would suggest bracelets and stud earrings.
4. Daring: Put on some THIGH HIGH boots (which I recommend every gal should own), animal print top buttoned all the way up, vest, and belt. Personally I would've paired this with a furry vest (currently stored away). Again, accessorize with statement necklace and bracelets, even add a little color to the look.

As you can see, I LOVE LOVE LOVE layers! Kinda a bummer since most of my layering pieces are still in the storage (since it isn't quite that cold yet). But your options are endless with jeans. Add accessories, diff prints/colors, shoes, hair styles. Experiment! Hope this helped out a bit for some of you out there as well. ENJOY!.............

LEGGINGS!

My Latest Fashion Craze = LEGGINGS! So comfy for those relaxed days. Summer is coming to an end and I am DEFINITELY going to put these bad boys to work during the colder weather.

Just bought a pair of the liquid and panel style! Never w

ould've thought I'd wear the liquid, but DON'T KNOCK IT TIL YOU TRY IT! Both are so versatile! The liquid leggings give you an edge to your outfit (whether it be casual or dressed up) and the panel leggings are quite slimming! OH MY, I am excited on the many outfits I can wear with my new LEGGINGS! Wouldn't you be if you knew you're going to look cute on those "bloated" days? And GUYS, LMFAO wears them!

What is your take on them?

OOTD - Business Lunch Meeting 09.25.12

Here I layered up on different clothing textures to give the outfit more depth.  Since the color choices were simplistic, I wore shoes that had the awesome retro-like design on the heel, to give the back view a bit of an oomph.   Also did a slightly smokey eye make-up to bring out the eyes, yet still have an appropriate day look. Hair in a slight side pony tail with extra volume and side braid.

Had a casual business lunch meeting with my sister/business partner, Kay Castro, about merging and expanding our business and future goals.  Getting our name out there and working as a team.  Exchanged great ideas over lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and came up with possible office locations and networking.  Check out my sister's website Kay Castro, she is an AH-MAZING make-up artist to say the least with 7 years experience! Her work has been featured in many blogs, magazines, talk shows, cyber playboy, and worked on several celebrities such as Evelyn Lozada herself.  My work on the other hand will be to assist her in make-up and hair.  Also, I specialize in more of the style department and offering services on revamping your current clothing options into newer and more up-to-date outfit selections or even personal shopper if you are looking to do more of adding pieces to what you currently have.  Contact myself or my sister by private message for any further questions or concerns!

Do Work!

Ladies: DO help out around the house including Lawn work! Its a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the outdoors, & great way to connect w/ your guy. Plus it doesn't hurt to know how to mow your own yard. Spice it up a bit and wear something your Hubby/man would enjoy!

Guys: I'm sure you'll enjoy this ALMOST as much as you enjoy watching your lady wash your car!

Go-To Food

Do you have a go-to food when nothing else sounds good? I would have to say mine is a nice cold bowl of cereal, skim milk, 2 spoons of flaxseed meal, and either fresh fruits or almonds. Yum. If you look really close, you'll see ice pellets in there too! Haha Yes, it's a weird way to eat cereal, but I love to have COLD milk!  Give it a try! Can't knock it til you try it!

What's your go-to food?

Green Tea

I know it's pretty typical for Asian people. But looking back when I was a kid, I always wondered why older people always drank tea on the daily.

Consuming hot tea with our meals helps break down all those fatty oily foods. Make it green tea and it'll definitely help break down stored fat in our bodies too. Look it up! There are Tons of Benefits from drinking green tea. Guilty and not ashamed, I drink green tea at least 1 hot cup a day :)

So next time you eat a huge fatty meal, Chinese food, dim sum, heck even Pizza or hamburgers, order hot tea instead of that ice cold drink! Trust me, your tummy will thank you for it.
